Australian music industry launches mental health helpline

A new helpline has been launched this month, aimed to assist people in the Australian music industry battling with their mental health.

The is a free and confidential service that, as Support Act CEO Clive Miller explains, has been started “in direct response to requests from our colleagues working in music to help improve overall mental health and wellbeing.”

He added in a press statement that “Based on our consultations and research, we believe that a specialised service specifically tailored to the unique challenges faced by artists and music workers will be enormous benefit to all people working in our industry.”

The helpline has been made possible by The Tony Foundation and Levi Strauss Australia, and as mentioned above, it is totally free and confidential. The number to call is 1800 959 500.
