Having launched her &Friends imprint earlier this year, BBC Radio 1 DJ and ZOO Music label boss Monki has been releasing banger after banger from artists such as Chambray, Citizenn and herself over the past few months.
The seventh release on the label comes from Polish DJ/producer Vonda7. Set for release tomorrow 3rd August, ‘That’s What Counts’ is a rousing three track EP full to the brim with tough rhythm, powerful piano stabs and energising acid lines.
The title track features a spoken vocal sharing the familiar message of dance music’s unifying purpose. “It’s not about ‘I listen to techno but house’” is certainly a motto we can get behind. Propped up by a heady beat and triumphant piano stabs, this is one for the festival floor.
