Following the indefinite hiatus of their seminal group Moderat, Sebastian Szary and Gernot Bronsert have refocused their energy towards further developing their Monkeytown brand and reawakening their beloved Modeselektor project.
Modeselektor has just announced the release date of their fourth ‘Modeselektion’ compilation album, set to land on June 1 Monkeytown and Ninja Tune. This tremendous and 100% exclusive 17-track album enlists some of the most innovative names in electronic music at the moment, including Vatican Shadow, Skee Mask, Radio Slave, Lone, Actress, FJAAK, rRoxymore, Rodhad and more.
In addition to this all-star compilation line-up, the album will feature the first original Modeselektor song since 2015.
“The choice of tracks is influenced by our thirst for effective dance music,” says the Berlin duo. “After almost four years of touring with Moderat, we really felt the urge to dedicate ourselves again to what made us”.
Ahead of the release, Modeselektor has offered us a taste of what is to come with the four-track EP ‘Modeselektion Vol. 4’, featuring original tracks from Lone, Actress, Brainwaltzera and Solid Blake.
Szary and Bronsert are gearing up for a worldwide Modeselektion tour alongside many of the artists featured on the compilation, that will hit Berlin, London, Italy, Belgium, Scotland, Germany, Poland, London, New York and Los Angeles.
