The nominees for the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards are in and there’s some seriously tough competition this year!
Rapper Cardi B leads the pack with a total 10 nominations, which is no shocker considering her swift rise to the hip hop throne this year. Followed by some straight up music royalty, The Carters — aka Queen B, Beyoncé and her king, Jay-Z. Other artists vying for the top honor, Video the Year, include Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello, Childish Gambino, and Drake. Will Donald Glover’s controversial music video take it home?
But the category that most concerns us is definitely Best Dance. Avicii, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Marshmello and Zedd will all battle it out at the MTV VMAs. Our hearts are telling us that the late legend may take this one out pure respect — but it’s really anyone’s game!
Noticeably absent from all major categories: Taylor Swift.
