Faithless have announced the title of their new album, ‘Champion Sound’, and shared a new single called ‘Find A Way’. Listen to it below.
In the midst of playing their first live shows in eight years on a tour across the EU and UK, including a set at Glastonbury in late June, the legendary electronic outfit have confirmed that they have a new album on the way. No release date has been announced as yet.
‘Find A Way’ is Faithless' first new music since 2020’s ‘All Blessed’ and finds them once again linking up with the London poet Suli Breaks on vocals.
The release marks the group’s first new music since the death of former frontman Maxi Jazz in December 2022. Announcing that new music was on the way back in April, surviving members Sister Bliss and Rollo wrote on Instagram: “Maxi died just over a year ago and obviously we miss him every day. Thank you for all your kind words of support over this last year. It has really, really meant a lot.
“In the meantime, we never stopped (couldn't stop, never wanted to stop!) making music. Even during Maxi's long illness we recorded and released 'All Blessed', and now finally, eight years after our last live performance, we are returning to festival stages."
Speaking to DJ Mag that same month, Sister Bliss discussed how Faithless’ live shows this year pay tribute to Maxi, and celebrate “of all our years in music – what we love, what we stand for as a band.”
Sister Bliss stressed the importance of maintaining this “family feeling” throughout their return to touring. “It is a bit like going on stage and taking your pants down, going out without your iconic frontman, so I felt really strongly that we were surrounded by people on this tour who understood and loved Maxi. Who have that kind of old school Faithless energy – I’m hoping that’s what we’re going to bring in spades.”
While further details about ‘Champion Sound’ are still to be revealed, you can listen to ‘Find A Way’ with Suli Breaks below.
