Rising from the streets of Richmond, Virginia, Rizzy Rackz is making a significant impact in the hip-hop scene with his new album, 'Risky Business Deluxe Edition'. This expanded album enriches his original release with fifteen tracks, introducing fresh perspectives and collaborations, including the standout single "No Drill." Known for his gritty narratives and versatile style, Rizzy delves deeper into personal and societal themes, blending introspection with raw energy.
View this post on InstagramRizzy explained the inspiration behind the deluxe edition, saying, “The main reason was because I felt the album needed 'Loving Me Baby' on it. But I wanted to add something new and unreleased too, so 'No Drill' was the perfect song for that.” His goal was to push his music further and offer fans something new while staying true to his authentic style.
Discussing "No Drill", Rizzy described how the song emerged from his real-life experiences. “It started out as random thoughts on how I was feeling about certain things in my life. The song ended up being a message for the streets to get some money and cool off from all the drilling. Save your money so you can make real moves with it. Money and unity, or peace, are good for everybody and their families,” he said. The song reflects his desire to inspire change and promote positive values.
Rizzy also talked about the collaborations on the album, such as "Pressure" with FNF Chop and "Gimme My Bag" with Luh Kiddo. These partnerships came about naturally due to their shared Richmond roots. “For 'Pressure,' I wanted to come strong on a beat with a little bop to it. I was just rapping one long rap when I came up with that heavy pressure part, and I said that’s the hook. Chop was in the studio, and after hearing it, he went straight into the booth and dropped his verse. He was crazy with it!” Rizzy recounted.
“'Gimmie My Bag' was a song I had recorded, but most of my songs are for real. I was playing songs at the WTO studio with Kiddo and Nolia. Kiddo liked that one and went straight into the booth and did his thing. Smoked it!” he added. These collaborations highlight the organic creative process and strong connections within their music community.
When asked about how his hometown influenced his style, Rizzy emphasized that it came naturally. “My city is gritty, though, and the majority of it—not all but the majority—is street. So the streets are naturally in my lyrics. Some of my songs are smooth with it, and some of them are more fierce and direct. Regardless of the style or delivery, one thing about my city is that we listen to the lyrics, so the bars have to hit too or be super relatable,” he explained.
Reflecting on his career, Rizzy identified "Big Dawg" as his most underrated but favorite song. “I feel like none of them have had the maximum exposure and reached their full potential, so they’re all still underrated to me,” he said. He also shared the origin of his artist name, explaining that it was a nickname given to him for always stacking money without spending it, which naturally evolved into "Rizzy Rackz."
Looking back on his journey, Rizzy considers honing his distinctive sound and receiving positive feedback from fans as his greatest musical achievements. “The messages I get from people telling me how good I am or how much they like the music are my greatest musical achievement so far. They tell me to keep going and don’t stop, because my potential is great,” he shared.
Rizzy's aspirations for the future include opening a show for Future, his favorite artist, and making a lasting impact with his music. “I want listeners to feel motivated and positive about life. I want them to feel soulful. I want my music to hit them in their chest. Many will be able to relate. For the ones that can’t directly relate, I want the music to be so translating and catchy that they feel like they can relate,” he said.
As he continues to evolve as an artist, Rizzy is gearing up for more releases and improvements. “Expect to see me on some of your favorite platforms soon. Just more, more, more. More of everything. Oh, and improving. Definitely expect to see me getting better. At everything!” he concluded.
