Funk Tribu has released a new album, ‘Against All Odds’. Check it out below.
Out now via Speedmaster Records / A Million, the eight-track LP marks the debut full-length release from the Colombia-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer.
Described a blend of “retro-futuristic trance” with “genre-fluid” and “groovy soundscapes”, the LP features several collaborations with artists including Lucy Dye, CAIVA, Spencer Elmer, Upper90, and DJ Traytex.
'Against All Odds' is said to draw influence from ‘90s and 2000s electronic music, and reflects the “highs and challenges of his personal journey.” Speaking about the LP, Funk Tribu said: “Against All Odds is a mix of my past with my current life, mirroring the journey I took to find and define my own sound. Or, better said, to be confident enough to embrace it.
“At some stage in my career, it was quite hard for me to play my own productions at my shows, as I felt they didn't quite fit the stage. But over time, I was able to embrace it more and more, becoming 100% confident in playing what I love to produce.”
To coincide with the release, Funk Tribu will host his first curated event later this month at ADE and will kick off his first US tour next month.
