Premiere: Tommy Bones ‘Dub Style’

Tommy Bones is readying a new double AA release on Vega Records, ‘Shouldna/Dub Style’. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dub Style’ below.

Over thirty years after his first professional DJ gig in New York City, the house veteran continues to find rich, sonic inspiration in the city that raised him, delivering two deep, dubbed-out rollers for Louie Vega’s coveted label. Tailor-made for massive systems, the two-tracker – out tomorrow – packs a similar subby punch as recent projects for Seth Troxler’s Slacker 85 imprint, Body N Deep and Real Tone Records, combining fidgety synth rhythms and brooding house textures with deep, thudding percussion.

Speaking to DJ Mag about the project, label boss Louie Vega shared: “Tommy Bones’ debut release on Vega Records is hittin’ just right and it’s wonderful to see all the amazing feedback from DJs worldwide. Both tracks are fiyaaah with a universal club appeal from tech house to house, and more... Mr. Bones is just gettin’ started!?”

The EP follows up the rubbery grooves of Bones’ July single, ‘Movin’, released under his new TB-203 alias, alongside DannyP. ‘Shouldna’ and ‘Dub Style’ also feature on the latest iteration of Vega’s annual 5 Pack compilation, alongside a host of other unreleased tracks, special versions, dubs, and more.

‘Shouldna/DubStyle’ is set for release digitally and on vinyl via Vega Records on 22nd November. Pre-save the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dub Style’ below.
