Roland has launched a new pair of “high-fidelity” studio headphones called the VMH-S100.
The cans, which Roland call a “new standard for music creation and production”, feature a flat sound profile for a more honest representation of your track with no hype in the lows or highs, plus a very wide frequency response from 5Hz to 40kHz, meaning you should be able to hear everything across the sonic spectrum.
The headphones come with custom-engineered 50mm drivers, and a closed-back design to block out external sounds and help improve the S100s’ bass response. Roland has designed the cans with longevity in mind, allowing users to replace the earpads once they wear out. The durable frame is also designed for comfort over long mixing and music-making sessions. The side of the cable is swappable depending on where you are in the studio, so the wire doesn’t trail across your equipment.
The headphones include three months of Roland Cloud Ultimate, the company’s subscription plug-in service. You’ll also get a carry pouch, two cables of differing lengths, and an adaptor to go from 3.5mm to quarter-inch jack.
The Roland VMH-S100s cost $299 and are available now. For more info and the full spec rundown visit the Roland website.
