Bergsonist curates compilation of Moroccan electronic music for Air Texture

Bergsonist has curated the latest instalment of Air Texture's location-focused compilation series, which hones in on the electronic music scene of Morocco.

Out now, the 13-track set includes tracks by artists based in, or hailing from, the country, such as Cheb Runner, Prophän and Bergsonist herself.

Speaking about the release, Bergsonist, who was born in Morocco and is now based in New York, said: "Curating music compilations has taught me that the best results often come from following an intuitive approach based on respect and trust. This collection is a mix of sonic contributions from IRL and internet friends, their connections, and talented artists I've discovered through platforms like SoundCloud.

"The selection is deliberately eclectic, spotlighting some of Morocco's most underrated musicians who are redefining the boundaries of electronic music (in my opinion). In this context, all the featured artists are best described as 'musicians/artists' rather than just 'producers'.

"At the moment, there’s an inspiring wave of Moroccan musicians, artists, designers, filmmakers, and thinkers creating groundbreaking work and elevating Morocco's cultural presence on the global stage. Bringing these incredibly talented individuals together has been an honour, and I hope it sparks even more collaborations across the various creative scenes in the future."

Profits from the release will be donated to INSAF, a not-for-profit organisation that supports mothers and children in need in Morocco, and is also helping people impacted by the El Haouz earthquake.
