Too bad we’re stuffed on leftovers, because Seth Troxler is serving up some prime Twitter beef…
The producer had some choice words to say about the “EDM” scene as it relates to house music, and CamelPhat in particular. In the tweets below, he gave his opinion, calling the current state tech house “the ultimate white wash culture.”
There’s no denying the impact Troxler has made on the house/techno scene. However, his opinion, topped f by #camelgate, has come f more like jealously, negativity — or as Eric Prydz puts it, “bitterness” — rather than a constructive argument. But, we’ll get to all that.
Here’s what Troxler had to say…
I think everyone is entitled to an opinion. Good or bad a free society should give us the option to voice said opinions. I dont like a lot things. Possibly noting more then edm disguised as house music. This is my opnion. And im not sorry about that. #camelgate ?♂️

Thank you. I know people who have died for this culture. Its been my whole life. Trance, EDM, whatever is different music. But i find the current state tech house so much worse because its so close to home. Its the ultimate white wash culture.

CamelPhat soon responded…

And, even Eric Prydz chimed in…
Bitterness in the scene is always ugly .Make your point/change with your music. If not… please shut the door on your way out. / Eric Prydz

So Please. I’m waiting. Use your music and this Twitter platform to show us all what we all have been missing… show me your resent music that will outlive “Cola” or “ constellations”

As lines blur, terms like “EDM,” “tech house,” and “house music” become more convoluted. Ask two people the definition each and we’re positive you’ll get different answers.
Our point is here, there’s room for everyone in the scene. Call it what you want, listen to it or don’t, and move along.
We’ll just leave you with this to sip on…
