Alison Wonderland Chimes In On Lyric-Stealing Controversy, Backs Up San Holo
The 36 hours have been newsworthy for San Holo for all the wrong reasons. Yesterday, it was brought to our attention that Chris Lake & Lee Foss’s new song “Lies, Deception and Fantasy” contained a chorus 99% identical to that San Holo’s mega-hit “Light.” Today, now that the song is out, Lee Foss has commented on the similarity in response to a fan on Instagram.
However, out the darkness shines a light (pun intended) in the form San’s friend Alison Wonderland. She backed up his feeling on Twitter, saying, “ANYONE giving you hate for how you feel about those song lyrics doesn’t understand songwriting or publishing. Hopefully it’s just accidental but I COMPLETELY understand why you feel how u do today. Love u.”
It’s a nice and supportive sentiment to be sure. But also, at the end her tweet, she announces that she too has a song called “Light” and it’s coming out next week! Alison has already dropped two singles in 2019, “Lost My Mind” with Dillon Francis and her solo original “Peace.”
