Alison Wonderland Liquidates Company After "Significant Losses" During Australia Tour

Toward the end 2017, Alison Wonderland announced an ambitious series shows in her native Australia called the ‘Wonderland Scarehouse Project’ tour. This tour would be a showcase for Alison and friends to play music to their hearts’ content in warehouses in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland without the worry noise complaints. She was joined on the tour by a number artists including Lunice, Lido, Party Favor, and ASAP Ferg.

Despite the hometown shows and stellar supporting cast, the tour suffered a significant loss at the expense Alison Wonderland, the promoters and investors, as well as others involved in making sure the tour ran smoothly.

The company under which the tour was run, Wonderland Touring Pty, now owes $776,000 to debtors and has as a “last resort.”

We reached out to Alison’s team in an effort to better understand the situation, who responded with the following statement:

Tireless efforts are continued to be made in order to settle outstanding supplier balances from the festival tour.

The festival tour as a whole incurred significant losses, due in large part to extreme weather the weekend the VIC event resulting in relocation in just 24 hours. Liquidation the company was actioned as a last resort and the only way the promoters and investors were able to move forward with the process reimbursing affected parties.

The people who lost the most money in this situation are Alexandra Sholler (Alison Wonderland) and the other investors/promoters. She suffered a huge personal financial loss and has waived her claims in order to make sure other debtors receive more. Her team are very committed to continuing to work in assisting affected suppliers and the liquidator in recovering all outstanding monies to distribute accordingly.

Alison Wonderland will tour Australia again, in partnership with Secret Sounds (promoters Splendour in the Grass), while she and her team work to pay back those who are owed money.
