Anetha has released a new single, ‘Let me d&be’, lifted from her forthcoming album, 'Mothearth'. Check it out below.
It's the second single to be released from the album, following ‘Sorry For Being So Sexy’ from late last year.
According to a press release, the new single explores Anetha's struggle against societal pressure, especially from men, to conform to narrow-minded standards in various parts of her life, from musical genres and dancing to general behaviour. This is reflected in the track's lyrics, which read: “Don’t tell me, what I need to do, what I’m doing wrong, let me be.”
'Mothearth' is set to arrive 20th March on Athena’s own imprint, Mama Told Ya. The ten-track LP is described as the culmination of her decade-long journey through nightlife and electronic music. The French DJ and producer recently dropped a video teaser for the album, you can watch it here.
Last October, Mama Told Ya released its third compilation, titled 'Mille attaques, les vents contrèrent,' featuring 20 tracks from artists such as Boys Noize, Zoë Mc Pherson, Benjamin Damage, David Löhlein, Uncrat, and Cerrot.
Last year, DJ Mag apremiered the Mama Told Ya-released ABSL track 'Lapin Blanc'. You can revisit Athena’s contribution to DJ Mag’s 2020 On Cue mix series here.
