Apple has become the first United States company with a market cap over $1 trillion. While Amazon and Apple were on a race to become the first trillion dollar company, Apple ficially crossed the finish line as yesterday morning when its stock crossed the $207.05 per share mark.
Given the volatility the stock market, however, it's possible that Apple will not remain at the $1 trillion mark in the coming days.
While PetroChina briefly reached the $1 trillion mark back in 2007, Apple is the first and only trillion-dollar company on the market today.
