Armin van Buuren shares new Ibiza-inspired single, ‘Es Vedrà’: Listen

Armin van Buuren has shared a new single, inspired by his long-standing connection with the island of Ibiza.

The new cut is titled 'Es Vedrà' and takes its name from the small rocky island located just off the Southwestern tip of Ibiza. The uninhabited rock formation, and views of it from nearby parts of Ibiza, is van Buuren's favourite spot on the White Isle.

Speaking about the new single and its inspiration, the Dutch trance DJ said: "Ibiza is said to be home to sirens and sea-nymphs, who tried to lure Odysseus from his ship in Homer's Odyssey. It is also thought of as the holy island of Tanit, the Phoenician lunar goddess worshiped as the patron goddess of fertility, who became Ibiza's patroness. This inspired me to make a track about the island."

van Buuren has released 'Es Vedrà' ahead of his upcoming residency of Ushuaïa Ibiza, which will see him headline all four Sundays of September.

You can listen to 'Es Vedrà', which combines punchy, rolling kicks with van Buuren's signature uplifting melodies and a chanted vocal, below.

In May, van Buuren released the 21st edition of his 'A State Of Trance' mix series.

He also performed with Pendulum vocalist Rob Swire at last month's Tomorrowland.
