ATRIP and KAM-BU have teamed up for a new collaborative single, ‘Ocean’. Listen to it below.
Released on Friday (29th August), the track is described as “one of the most significant releases” from ATRIP’s forthcoming mixtape release, ‘TANZPARTEI II’, landing next month. Alongside the German-Polish producer’s signature melodic production, it features a stirring monologue from South London rapper KAM-BU, who freestyled almost the entire track’s lyrics during one take.
“It’s a song that tells a story of healing and adventure, which is a core notion of the overall mixtape,” ATRIP shared. “‘Ocean’ is a balance between ecstasy and emotion, and Kam is a rapper that is not afraid to touch onto emotional spheres and display vulnerability in his music, which is something I resonate with deeply.”
The collaboration follows KAM-BU’s May single, ‘Bring Me Up’, on the DnB All Stars imprint. Last year, the UK rapper also released his latest EP, ‘BUILT 2 LAST’, via OFF GRID, marking his first project since the end of 2020. He was also nominated for Best MC/Vocalist at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards back in 2021.
ATRIP’s latest mixtape, ‘TANZPARTEI II’, is set for release on 4th October.
