Washington D.C-based DJ, producer and label boss Baby Weight has teamed up with Los Angeles-based DJ and producer N2N, and DJ, producer and vocalist Modern Lover on a new single, ‘Secret Garden’.
Released via Box of Cats, ‘Secret Garden’ sets a dreamy vocal line from Modern Lover against a deep, grooving bass line, some crisp breaks and a hypnotising rhythm tapped out on bells.
Announcing the new track in an Instagram post, Modern Lover wrote: “Crazy to think it was 3 years ago when N2N and Baby Weight sent me the instrumental for Secret Garden. All of the unique sounds reminded me of a lush, colorful flower garden and I immediately knew I wanted to write a top line for it.”
In 2023, Baby Weight debuted on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records with ‘Fear is the Weapon’.
Also that year, the D.C producer released the ‘It’s Giving’ EP via He.She.They, collaborated with Karnage Kills on ‘My Heart’, and contributed a track to the Dome of Doom spring compilation.
