Barker has announced his next album, 'Stochastic Drift', which will arrive via Smalltown Supersound on 4th April.
'Reframing', the LP's first single, is named after a psychological technique for "reinterpreting a situation in a positive way" and is available to stream below.
Barker explained that the "challenge for this record" was to try and embrace the process of "unpredictability" and "to let go of expectations.”
“I’d been working with an approach that was quite deliberate and goal-oriented before, but I realised this wasn’t so helpful in the context of uncertainty," he said. "Being suddenly unemployed and stuck at home for an indefinite amount of time, with one disruption after another, it was like the target kept moving and I didn’t know what to aim at.”
'Stochastic Drift' follows the producer's 2023’s 'Unfixed' EP, which marked his solo released since 2020. It's his first full-length release since he released his acclaimed 2019 debut album, 'Utility.'
