Bassnectar Is Launching A Food Drive for Flint, Michigan To Donate Over 35,000 Meals

Bassnectar is always looking for ways to give back and his latest venture involves bringing food to the kids Flint, Michigan — 35,000 meals worth!

This Halloween, Bassnectar takes on Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan for three special nights what he’s calling Freakstyle 2019. Over October 31 – November 2 the food drive will take place, aiming to serve up 35,000 healthy meals to the kids Flint.

Bassnectar’s nonprit, Be Interactive, and Conscious Alliance are calling on fans to help out during the halloween-themed “Flint Brain Food Drive.”

“Our goal is to collect 5,000 meals at Freakstyle — double what we usually collect at a Bassnectar event,” said Justin Levy, Executive Director Conscious Alliance.

An additional semi truck full food and as much drinking water as it can fit will arrive to the city, fulfilling the rest the meals. Donations will be taken to the Food Bank Eastern Michigan in Flint.

“Years after the Flint Water Crisis, despite heroic activism and resilience in the city, lasting challenges remain. Bassnectar fans asked us to come together around the water crisis, and the opportunity is finally here,” Lia Holland, Executive Director Be Interactive said press release.

“Among their needs, this community lists food and water, and we are grateful to the inspiring kids and families Flint for graciously welcoming our donation.”

Those who donate 20 non-perishable food items or make a suggested cash donation to the Flint Brain Food Drive will receive a limited-edition Bassnectar Freakstyle 2019 lunchbox, decorated with art by Tyler Nally & Nathaniel Deas.
