Billboard Reveals The Two Artists Who Dominated The EDM Charts This Year

More and more year-end stats are coming out as we approach the end 2019. Most people might get tired the constant barrage various stats, but it’s a fascinating look into the back end these companies who rarely release bulk data like this at any other time. For Billboard’s Dance/Electronic charts in 2019, there were two clear winners: The Chainsmokers and Marshmello.

This should really come as a surprise to no one. These are two artists who have managed to transcend the electronic genre and still manage to place a foothold firmly within it. With collaborations all over the musical spectrum and production budgets that rival small festivals, it’s no wonder all their music is also commercial successful.

As Billboard reveals, The Chainsmokers are this year’s Top Dance/Electronic Artist for the fourth consecutive year, topping a previous record set by Lady Gaga in 2009-2011. They’re also the year’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums Artist with three titles in the year-end top 10, as well as the #3 Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Artist.

Marshmello falls just behind The Chainsmokers on both the Top Dance/Electronic Artists list and on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums Artist list, but fittingly ranks as the No. 1 Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Artist with the massive success “Happier.”
