There’s a cool way about “Promises.” Magic is in the air and all that can be guaranteed is tonight. Smith’s smooth vocals glide beautifully across the track (that’s where the cool comes in), while Reyez chirps in every so ten with playful energy that echoes the common theme tonight.
Calvin Harris is all about making these types superstar collaborations happen and Sam Smith is no stranger to the EDM scene himself. It was Disclosure’s “Latch” that put his voice on the map in 2013, and brought attention to his standout artistry destined for the spotlight.
“Promises” sounds so right, we can’t believe this collaboration didn’t happen any sooner. But, Smith’s to dance music was well worth the wait. The new single is already trending online and promises to make some serious waves on the tail end this summer.
