Carl Cox postpones Movement 2025 set, Jeff Mills announced as day one headliner

Carl Cox's set at this year's Movement festival will no longer go ahead with the UK DJ postponing his appearance at the Detroit event to 2026.

Writing on Instagram, Cox put the postponement down to scheduling complications and promised fans that he would bring his full live show to next year's festival instead. Festival organisers have confirmed that Jeff Mills will now headline the event in Cox's place on Saturday, 24th May.

In a statement, Mills said: "To be able to play in Detroit is, and has always been, a special kind of magic. It's one of the few places in the world where anything could happen because of a higher premium of music 'sense' most people have, and it's constantly being handed down from one generation to the next. Detroit is the place that understands the power of music and the value of a soulful and moving experience."

Movement previously confirmed its full line-up ahead of the addition of Mills earlier this month, with Charlotte de Witte, John Summit, HAAi and Underground Resistance co-founder Mike Banks among the names announced.

Last month, Cox shared his full DJ set from Burning Man 2024's Mayan Warrior stage.

Earlier this week, Mills announced a new album from his jazz fusion project Spiral Deluxe, titled 'The Love Pretender'.
