Carlita has dropped her latest single, ‘Planet Blue.’ Watch its video below.
This new track from the Turkish-Italian DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist features the London-based singer-songwriter Cleo Simone. ‘Planet Blue’ comes two months after she debuted on Ninja Tune’s Counter Records imprint with ‘Time’.
Speaking of being signed to Counter Records, home to the likes of TSHA, LP Giobbi, and ODESZA, Carlita said: "Ninja Tune is such an iconic label for me. I grew up listening to Coldcut, Amon Tobin, and Bonobo. I love the diversity of sounds, the crossover, and futuristic approach, and I feel so honored to be part of such an amazing artist roster."
'Planet Blue’ has been a staple in her DJ sets and is a precursor to what the press release describes as an upcoming "fuller body of work."
While there’s no official announcement regarding future releases from Counter Records, Carlita hinted at her plans in an October 2023 cover interview with DJ Mag North America. She revealed to Megan Venzin that she was completing her debut album in London, aiming for a release later that year. In the same interview, she also discussed her musical upbringing, the Senza Fine parties, and more. You can revisit that feature here.
Earlier this year, in January, Carlita released the single ‘Cash For Love’ on CircoLoco Records. Last October, she also remixed DJ Seinfeld and Confidence Man's single ‘Now U Do.’
Relive Carlita's set from Printworks London's closing weekend in July 2023.
