Cayman, young rapper from Chicago just released his first collection of tracks with The Cayman Ep. This young man is not only another rapper; he invented a style of his own he calls tropical rap. This form of rap is very laid-back and the philosophy that goes with it aspires to chill out, relax and go with the flow without asking too many questions. The 5-track EP includes some sharp tracks such as “Locusts In My Basement” and my personal favorite, the lead single of the EP titled “Another One”, released less than a month ago along with its music video. From a musical standpoint, the mission to chill is a success with some very smooth instrumental lines, groovy beats highlighting the extremely serene voice of Cayman.
He is one of the great musical surprises of the end of this summer, hypnotizing the listener with smooth mastery. In addition to his talent, the rapper seems to have a great sense of humor showcased in his music videos where you can see him chilling in a forest or around a lake, always with a smile on his face.
