Colorado Fighting Back Against Hippie Sabotage At Red Rocks

It was only a month ago that the EDM community voiced its disapproval booking Hippie Sabotage for Okeechobee 2020, and now the Colorado community is fighting back against the group playing at Red Rocks.

For a refresher, per our Okeechobee artist last month, “Over three years ago, Hippie Sabotage created chaos on stage at What The Festival when their actions forced security to come on stage and shut them down. Instead complying, they retaliated against security and created a huge fight on stage which then rippled throughout the EDM community and garnered them a lot hate. They also got into it personally with Ekali, back when Periscope was still a thing.”

The EDM community still has not forgiven or forgotten Hippie Sabotage’s actions, as shown by last month’s outcry against Okeechobee, and now Red Rocks. Their headlining show at the legendary venue was announced Monday, and it was immediately pushed back against.

“FUCK these guys, disgrace to the scene and to artist everywhere. NO CHANCE IN HELL WE WILL BE ATTENDING,” wrote Colorado EDM Family on Twitter.

Similar sentiments were shared in the replies to Red Rocks’ original tweet.

Despite this apparent rage, Hippie Sabotage continue to sell out venues and have nearly 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify; there’s clearly a disconnect between the EDM community in which their career began and their current fans who spend money to see them on tour.

Hippie Sabotage have not made any comment about the backlash. In fact, they haven’t tweeted since the backlash against Okeechobee last month.
