David Guetta is no foreign name to the music world. Since he started DJing in the 80’s, he has collected awards such as DJ Mag’s number one DJ in 2011 and creating the number one dance-pop collaboration all time with ‘When Loves Takes Over’. Recently rumors about Guetta producing under a new alias have been floating around which involved music that typically has not been associated with Guetta’s “sound”. However, these rumors have now been confirmed as David Guetta has OFFICIALLY released a mixtape under Jack Back.
This doesn’t come as too much a surprise since he created the Jack Back label in 2012 leading us to easily determine who the person behind the new persona was. While Guetta has been known for his commercial mainstream music–especially in the past decade–he now returns to his house music roots in the new mixtape. The mixtape contains 12 tracks that showcase a underground house sound that have elements techno and deep house. Guetta is also set to release his seventh studio album aptly named 7 which will feature a second component with these 12 tracks.
The Jack Back mixtape will definitely widen the “grandfather EDM’s” fanbase by reminding fans the range Guetta’s talents. With infectious tracks such as ‘Overtone’, Freedom’, and ‘Just A Little More Love’ this is one collection you’ll need to hear.
On speaking the new alias Guetta said,
We’ll keep our eyes out for the release 7. In the meantime, take a listen to the Jack Black mixtape below.
