For Diplo, switching up genres is as easy as changing lanes. With his new Higher Ground EP, it’s all about house music.
About a month ago, the producer hit us with two ridiculously smooth, house-driven productions, “Hold You Tight” and “Bubble Up,” co-produced by Nitti Gritti. Now, he’s back with a couple more collabs, “Give Dem” with Blond:ish featuring Kah-Lo and “Win Win” featuring Tove Lo.
“Give Dem” is a perky party track, led by Kah-Lo’s lyrics with heavy emphasis on the vibe. It’s easy and infectious, with subtle builds that lead straight back into a danceable loop that could go on forever (we wouldn’t mind). “Win Win” goes deep, with low rumbles and echoing vocals. It’s impossible to not surrender to Tove Lo’s familiar voice as Diplo shows f his impeccable, technical side.
