DJ AG Online launches GoFundMe to support emerging artists

DJ AG Online is raising money to support independent artists.

Tottenham DJ Ashley Gordon, known for his livestreams DJing on the streets of London, is using his growing platform to help fund emerging artists' studio time and music distribution via GoFundMe

"With so many independent artists blessing us with their talent it is only right we as a community try to support them", DJ AG Online wrote in the crowdfunding campaign description. "I would like to help contribute towards the costs of studio time and distribution of their music." So far he's raised £1,575, hitting his goal of £1,500.

DJ AG Online — “the most important DJ in the UK” according to Butterz/Make The Ting's Elijah — has gained notoriety for his DJ sets out in London, which often feature guests, broadcast on TikTok, where he has nearly 500,000 followers, and Instagram. His clip with Guinness Book of World Records' fastest rapper Daddy Freddy has more than 1 million views.

"As a DJ, I’m never going to be the most technical and that doesn’t really interest me", DJ AG Online told Dazed in an interview last month. "It’s not about me, it’s more about the platform. I’m here to support and get the best out of you. There’ll be a time and a place for me to do a club event and show my mixing skills but, for me right now, it’s about showcasing talent and seeing what we can do to help people. Hopefully, some of the ANRs and labels will pick some of these people up and give them a push."

He previously ran a crowdfunding campaign to provide iPads for schools in London. That campaign raised more than £2,000.
