You’d be hard-pressed to find people who support homophobia in dance music culture, but they are course out there lurking. Much has been done to provide all cultures, sexual orientations, races, genders, et al. with a safe space to dance their booties f, but the battle continues day after day.
The latest to really make a statement about homophobia in dance music is Canadian producer/DJ Ekali, who in doing so, also came out as bisexual.
So far, it seems that Ekali, real name Nathan Shaw, has received nothing but words support from his friends, followers, and colleagues.
Other artists to recently come out as gay or bisexual include Griz and KANDY.
