London-based duo FAFF have released a new vinyl EP, ‘Ouverture For Love’, via BDE Records. Listen to clips from the release below.
The new two-tracker, which includes the title track and “Fancy Coat” featuring Ms Sharon Le Grand, has been limited to a 180-copy run.
Each copy includes access to a download of the release in WAV format. Released as a white label and individually hand-stamped, FAFF say there will be no represses in the future.
In a statement on the Bandcamp page, FAFF wrote: “The intersection between music and fashion has long been a dynamic force, made obvious in this next release from FAFF on BDE Records. ‘Fancy Coat’ is a true crime mystery inspired acid house number featuring East London royalty Ms Sharon Le Grand on vocals. ‘Will she ever find her coat?!’”
FAFF, aka Orny and Elliott, have been praised for their contributions to queer club culture in the UK. They’re also renowned for their sprawling tastes and eclectic DJ sets that can take ravers from irreverent speed garage edits to pounding happy hardcore, dreamy euphoria or snappy breakbeats. This is the duo’s third EP in as many months, following Four Times More last month and Final Fantasy with Submarine FM in June, which included breakbeat bouncer “Groove Is On”.
BDE Records is a label born from the DJ Bag Best Of British Award-nominated Big Dyke Energy club night, which Elliott co-ran until it came to an end last year.
