FKA twigs has been cast alongside Nicolas Cage in a new horror film, called The Carpenter's Son.
Directed by Egyptian-American filmmaker Lotfy Nathan, the movie places the story of Jesus' childhood into a horror context, according to a report by Deadline. Shooting for the film begins this summer.
"The Carpenter's Son tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt," the official synopsis reads. "The son, known only as 'the Boy', is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension.
"As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors, natural and divine."
This will be Nathan's second feature film, following 2022's Harka, while, for twigs, it will follow her upcoming appearance alongside Bill Skarsgård in Rupert Sanders' remake of The Crow, which debuts in cinemas this August.
Twigs is also set to release a new album sometime this year, which will follow her 2022 mixtape 'CAPRISONGS'. In January, she confirmed the techno-inspired record would feature production from Koreless and other artists.
She previewed new music at Valentino's Paris Fashion Week show in October.
