Flume Smashes 1 Billion Plays For The First Time On A Song

Flume just received a high honor for his 2016 production “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai, as the original song has racked up over a billion streams globally (across streaming services).

The award comes from APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) AMCOS‘s (Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society) The 1,000,000,000 List, held exclusively for Australasian artists who accumulate over a billion streams on a record. So far, the club has only two other members — songwriter Nat Dunn for her part in Marshmello and Anne-Marie’s “Friends” and Dean Lewis for “Be Alright.”

“Flume’s songwriting and production has had a huge influence on how music sounds, and his success has opened the doors for his fellow Australian music creator,” APRA AMCOS chief executive Dean Ormston said.

“Through his songs, he has connected to fans all over the world and we congratulate Harley on achieving a position on The 1,000,000,000 List.”

Flume said, “I’m honored to have found out the song hit one billion streams a few weeks ago.”

Huge congrats to Flume on this great achievement!
