A number of people who had been due to be glamping at this year's Glastonbury festival have been left without tickets after a luxury yurt company went into administration.
Festival-goers had booked accommodation and hospitality ticket packages through Yurtel, which is based in Corsham, Wiltshire. However, they have since been told by the company that their bookings will not be fulfilled after the company went bust and appointed liquidators earlier this month.
Prices for the ticket and accommodation packages ranged from £10,000 to £16,500. Those who purchased them have been told that the money they paid "cannot be refunded" for now. They've additionally been notified that details of the claim process to get their money back would be provided to creditors when liquidation has started.
The festival said while it was "disappointing" for those who had booked tickets and accommodation through the company, it has "no involvement with the operation of Yurtel" and could therefore not provide people with tickets. It also said Yurtel had not paid for any tickets for the 2025 festival prior to entering into liquidation.
Yurtel was one of a small number of campsites local to festival site Worthy Farm with limited access to purchase hospitality tickets for their guests in certain circumstances, the festival pointed out. "As such, we have no records of their bookings and are unable to take any responsibility for the services and the facilities they offer."
The festival continued: "Anyone who has paid Yurtel for a package including Glastonbury 2025 tickets will need to pursue any potential recompense available from them via the liquidation process as outlined in their communication to you. We are not able to incur the cost or responsibility of their loss or replacement."
Glastonbury says Yurtel customers should contact [email protected] to confirm their consent for them to share their personal data and details of their booking with the festival. "We will then be able to provide details of alternative potential sources for those customers to purchase tickets and accommodation for this year's festival," it said.
This year's Glastonbury takes place from Wednesday, 25th June until Sunday, 29th June. The Prodigy, Charli xcx and Four Tet are among the headline acts playing the festival.
Line-ups for various electronic music-focused areas of the event have also been announced in recent weeks, including Silver Hayes, Glade, Block9 and Arcadia. Earlier this week, Glastonbury revealed its 2025 site map, which shows expanded dance music areas across the festival site.
