Hardwell Is Stepping Away From DJing Effective Immediately

Since Electronic Dance Music broke onto the scene, it is next to impossible to remember a time in which Hardwell has not reigned in the genres Hierarchy. With dancefloor anthems “Space Man”, “Apollo” and I'll just stop there or I will be here all day, Hardwell has proven a staple in the industry as both a DJ and Producer. His youthful energy and exuberance have brought more joy to the world than he will ever know. Looking back in time at the most influential individuals for my fandom this genre, Hardwell stands atop the mountain with the likes Avicii, Calvin Harris, A-Trak, Laidback Luke, Skrillex and Diplo. Remembering the day Avicii announced his retirement from touring is a day that will live with me for the rest my life, immediately booking a flight to catch one his last shows in Vegas. Understanding the rigorous schedule that our favorite performers go through on a daily basis, it comes with great sadness but at the same time, great praise that they are able to step out the spotlight and enjoy their lives as they are people just like you and I.

Hardwell Retires From Touring

You see where this is going. This morning, Hardwell took to Social media to announce that he is going to be stepping away from live performances.

As you read, he will be playing his last show in October at ADE. If you have the means, make it happen. This is a sad day for EDM, but, we need to look at the bigger picture. Robbert, we hope to have you back on the stage one day. Much respect and a very brave move. More Life, mate. Good for you.
