Isabella Lovestory's new album, 'Vanity', is coming next month. Watch the video for new single 'Gorgeous' below.
The Canada-based Honduran experimental pop artist will release her second album on 27th June via Giant Music. The 13-track LP includes singles 'Puchica', 'Putita Boutique', featuring TAICHU, and 'Telenovela', produced by Chicken. The rest of the tracklist and potential collaborators have yet to be revealed.
"'Vanity' has a metallic analog vibe: a robotic funeral", Isabella Lovestory said in a press statement. "Ghost in the Shell mixed with a pop-y ultra-feminine sound. Shiny yet rusty, fancy yet trashy, like ancient encrusted diamonds. Thematically this album explores fragility, how easily a mirror shatters, but it also explores the indestructible and eternal essence of beauty. I don't mind when things break, I like to collect the pieces and create something new."
The album announcement is paired with the music video for latest single 'Gorgeous' directed by Jim Alexander. The pop artist "wanted the video to feel timeless and elegant, not tied to any specific aesthetic", she said. "What does being gorgeous even mean? To me it might mean a dusty car garage, a stray cat, or hot pink acrylics. Tarkovsky vibes."
So far this year, Isabella Lovestory has collaborated with DJ Python on the 'Besos Robados' single and PinkPantheress on 'True Religion'. Her debut album, 'Amor Hardcore' was released in 2022, and was followed by several singles, including 2023's 'Fuetazo', featuring Villano Antillano.
