Jensen Interceptor announces new album, ‘Interception’, on International Chrome

Berlin-based Australian DJ and producer Jensen Interceptor has shared the details his forthcoming album, ‘Interception’. To coincide with the news, he has released the lead single, ’New Way’.

Set to arrive on 11th September via his own International Chrome label, the new album will be his second and follows 2018’s ‘Mother’.

Explaining the seven-year gap between releases, he said an initial hiatus during COVID had been compounded last year when he was forced to take time off due to a freak accident during a performance that left him with multiple broken bones in his foot.

“Since I started making music I’ve always made music geared towards use in my DJ sets,” he said, “but there’s always been an urge to explore the deeper side of electronic music. That time off after the accident gave me the space to dive into genres and really experiment.”

After that, he took time to recalibrate and rethink his sound. In light of that, ‘Interception’ marks a new chapter and a new approach for the Australian. Its title is also a call back to his first EP under the Jensen Interceptor alias.

“I really wanted to challenge and, I guess, prove myself in other spheres, to take my music to a new place,” he added. “I’ve never wanted to be too repetitive and found that expectations, imagined or real, were forcing me to get stuck on a specific sound both in my productions and DJ sets.”
