Jim Legxacy has shared the details of his forthcoming mixtape, ‘black british music (2025)’, his first project since signing to XL Recordings.
‘black british music (2025)’ was first announced in October last year when he released, ‘aggressive’, a single that samples Chip’s 2009 pop hit ‘Oopsy Daisy’ but does not appear on the tape. The rapper and vocalist soon followed that with ‘father’, a soulful track packed with a choppy, lo-fi production style and heaps of nostalgia.
The most recent track to be heard from the tape is ‘stick’, which was previewed earlier this year during an appearance on Plaqueboymax’s livestream with YT, Fimiguerrero and Len. It also came with a nostalgia-heavy, coming-of-age video directed by Rohan Dil and shot partly on a BlackBerry.
‘black british music (2025)’ will be Jim Legxacy’s fourth full-length project following ‘Dynasty Program: A Metrical Composition Inspired by the Nights Spent as The Raiider’, ‘Citadel’ and ‘homeless n*gga pop music’.
‘black british music (2025)’ will be released on 18th July digitally and on CD and limited edition NFC card from Jim Legxacy’s online store. Pre-orders are available now.
