Jungle Legends and a UK Upstart Descend on LA's Bass Scene at Xcellerated Saturday, 6/15

When they say “jungle is back” with the recent surge in general bass music’s love its progenitor, it’s quite amusing to those heads who know for certain it hasn’t gone anywhere lo these almost 30 years since it all kicked f. Nicky Blackmarket was one those kickf players way back then, when he and a handful other DJs plucked jungle music out the primordial EDM soup. He’s been driving the scene at his own pace for years and is also one those bass music forces who’s never gone away. Where he hasn’t gone, however, is LA.

This Saturday, June 15 will be the first return Mr. Market to the United States after over 13 years, and to sum up: if you want to see what a real DJ does on the decks, his set is not to be missed. If that weren’t enough, however, Xcellerated as always has stacked the lineup once again with the past, current and future UK gods jungle. Also part Blackmarket’s 360 showcase tour experience will be the also legendary DJ Prile and Fatman D. But (in best infomercial announcer voice) that’s not all!

Another tour that’s been running across the nation has been the Playside 175 tour with yet more jungle love from legend in his own right DJ SUV and cheeky (relative) newcomer Saxxon. SUV needs no introduction as the one-time part Roni Size and Reprazent and founder Playside Records while Saxxon has been blowing the ro f the jungle scene in recent years with his slick, minimal beats on huge labels like V, Natty Dub, Spearhead and LionDub International and not to mention his wild, cheeky videos on Facebook and for his recent EP Electrolytes. This tour is nothing but fun and Xcellerated managed to snag them and 360 at the same time.

Rounding out the evening for this true junglist massive will be stateside legends Tribe Steppaz and DJ KC. The night will be hosted by MCs Dino, Mighty Monkz and JTec. Come early to make sure you don’t miss a drop ( bass).

Tickets and info are available on the Xcellerated Facebook event page. Online tickets will be available until 7pm day the show, so get them early and get ready to tear up the bumbaclot place!
