Kampire and Decay announce 24-hour b2b set fundraising for Kampala arts centre

DJs Kampire and Decay have revealed plans to play a 24-hour b2b set in an effort to raise funds for the building of an arts centre in Kampala, Uganda.

The pair will take to the decks at 32° East, which is Uganda's first purpose-built art centre from 6pm EAT on Friday, 23rd May, with the set being streamed live on Mixcloud. It's hoped that funds raised during the set will help fund the completion of the building of 32° East, with $100,000 still needed to finish the work.

When completed, the centre will house six studios and artist accommodation for up to 24 residencies per year. It will also take in a gallery, café, library, art supply store and spaces to host workshops.

The DJ set is taking place under the banner of FUNDRAZA 2, following the original FUNDRAZA in 2021, which helped raise $96,000 to establish 32° East's permanent home.

The marathon set will also be streamed live at a Nyege Nyege party hosted by Brussels venue Club Illegaal.

The live stream will be hosted on Kampire's Mixcloud channel, which you can access here.
