Kygo Donates Hefty Sum Towards Mental Health on World Suicide Prevention Day

As the public incidents involving mental health issues pile up, artists are taking action. We are all aware what happened with Avicii a few months back. Since then, many artists are speaking out on their own struggles. Just yesterday, 26-year old DJ Ookay opened up about his struggles with substance abuse and depression.

Actually taking action is a whole other battle. Norwegian DJ Kygo has put his foot down and taken a step towards a more enlightened future. On September 10, known as World Suicide Prevention Day, Kygo donated $30,000 to the ‘Tomorrow Needs You’ campaign. The campaign is a project the nonprit organization To Write Love On Her Arms. This comes in the middle National Suicide Prevention Week, September 9 – 15.

TWLOHA is a nonprit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. The organization, founded by Jamie Tworkowski, started as an individual instance one person reaching out to help another. You can learn more about the purpose that drives TWLOHA here. They surpassed their original goal $100,000, creating a new goal $150,000.

While we can all post and talk about action, Kygo is leading by example. If you wish to donate to this very worthy cause, you can do so RIGHT HERE.
