Local police department wants people to stop bringing their horse down Old Town Road
The popularity Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” has propagated throughout every age bracket, socioeconomic level, race and more. It’s a verified hit and there’s no way you could escape it. Now, the song is having real life consequences for residents new Manchester, New Hampshire, where the real Old Town Rd. is causing trouble.
Apparently, aspiring rappers were heading to the road and filming amateur rap videos or covers to the song, and disturbing local residents. It got so bad that the New Hampshire police department posted a notice on its Facebook:
“Attention aspiring local rappers. Please stop taking your horses down to our Old Town Road. This quiet neighborhood f Troy Road is not a suitable filming location for your amateur rap videos. For our older followers, please disregard this pop culture reference and continue your equestrian activities as usual.”
The department ended the post with a joke, posting a photo Dean from “Supernatural” as a cowboy with the caption: “You’ve yee’d your last haw.”
Clearly there is some humor in the situation, and it’s hard not to get a chuckle or two out it. But for the residents on Old Town Rd., this is a very real issue indeed. Watch the local news report below.
