Louis The Child’s New Remix for Skrillex & Boys Noize Has Fans Extremely Divided

Skrillex teamed up with Boys Noize and Ty Dolla $ign to drop “Midnight Hour” earlier this year, a bouncy club track with lots flavor and personality. Taking more influence from “Would You Ever” than Show Tracks, it found itself more at home in a ster set than one attuned to headbanging.

Now, Louis The Child have gotten their hands on the single and fer up a remix that has fans both theirs and Skrillex quite divided.

The intro is as sultry and smooth as the original, but it’s the drop that is causing controversy. The duo replaces the pounding drums with what one SoundCloud commenter described as a 4th grader learning to play the recorder. The tempo is slower, giving it a less club-ready vibe, as if it was aiming for a more emotional impact. But the lead synth is far too distracting to let that happen.

That being said, many fans are extremely happy with the remix, calling it a “banger,” “crazy good,” among other compliments. On the other hand, a lot fans are asking what happened. At the end the day, we can’t fault LTC from trying something new; we just wonder if they might have jumped the shark a bit.

Listen below and make a decision for yourself!
