Lucrecia Dalt has announced a new album, 'A Danger to Ourselves'. You can listen to the first single, 'divine', below.
The track comes with a video conceptualised by the Colombian experimental musician and directed by filmmaker Tony Lowe, whose oeuvre includes celebrated 2012 documentary ICON EYE. The clip features both Dalt and multi-disciplinary artist Lucia Maher-Tatar.
The LP is Dalt's first since 2022's sci-fi bolero outing, '!Ay!', and her celebrated score for HBO's series The Baby, released the same year. The album will be released on 5th September via RVNG Intl.
The title developed from the lyrics to 'cosa rara', the first track from the album, which features a guest appearance from David Sylvian. Best known to some as frontman and chief songwriter in the band Japan, the enigmatic English musician is also credited as co-producer on 'A Danger to Ourselves'.
“In the past, I often turned to movies and texts as mirrors to shape my stories, guiding me away from revealing too much from within, inventing isolated fictions," said Dalt. "This time, I wanted to create music that flows cinematically and sets a landscape to tell a love story that flirts with improbability, the miraculous and the mysterious.”
