Madeon’s Highly Anticipated New Album Is Finally Here & It’s Basically Perfect

Four years later, Madeon’s second album Good Faith has finally arrived. Following up the incredible Adventure in 2015, which landed at #2 on our albums the year list, has proven to take longer than fans anticipated. In fact, the French artist didn’t release a single new song, apart from “Shelter” with friend and collaborator Porter Robinson, until the album roll out began earlier this year. But the wait was worth it in the end.

Speaking the roll out, it was somewhat unique in that all three singles were also the first three singles on the album. In that sense, the remaining seven songs on the album are appropriately a surprise and refreshing, while the singles give fans a familiar foothold as they begin this wonderful listening experience.

The 35-minute album is truly a holy experience. The title Good Faith is actually frighteningly apropos as many the tracks exude a combination gospel influence and French house stylings. But the album isn’t religious in that sense, it’s more “spiritual” as Madeon himself would put it.

Speaking about the new album, Madeon says, “I’ve been living this album every day for years and now it’s time to share it. I wanted to capture the colors this mysterious, sometimes dangerous joy I’ve been feeling in episodes lately. Those moments where reality feels more colorful, more pround, more spiritual, more fun than usual. I tried to illustrate that by welcoming into my world the sounds humans, from large choirs to soloists, children and live musicians.”

Good Faith also demonstrates the raw growth that Madeon has seen over the past four years, taking creative control over the album in every aspect from the writing to the producing to the mastering to the singing. Not that Adventure wasn’t a wonderful album, but this album is just far more personal in comparison.

He continues, “I also wanted to make an album that was more an artist album than a producer album if that makes sense – so I wrote all the songs and am singing most it. I grew from a teenager to an adult in the making this album and my hope is that you find something to cherish there! I’ve been living in the Good Faith era for a couple years and now it’s ours.”

Fans can catch Madeon’s magnificent new live show on his Good Faith Live tour, which is currently underway. The headline tour continues its trek across North America with two sold-out shows this weekend at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall and will make stops in major markets including New York and Washington, DC with many dates sold out.
