Madnap and yetep are two producers who both make pretty beautiful music on their own. Together, and with the help Miranda Glory, they’ve tapped into something new for “It’s Just You.”
If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “it’s not me, it’s you,” you’ll identify slightly with this song. However, Madnap and yetep put a little twist on this one by saying “if it isn’t us, it’s just you.” The difference is slight, but deep. Either way, the song explores why a relationship has fallen apart, and what to do in the aftermath.
The first drop combines a simple arp with some major chords and bass for a stadium sized effect that’s still emotional, but it’s the second drop that really revs my engine. The tempo is my dynamic, the synths are more varied with a twist, and it demonstrates a climax the conversation.
“It’s Just You” is musical storytelling at its finest, and you’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t have their own story to tell. Listen below.
