A new book is set to celebrate 30 years since the founding of the label Metalheadz.
'THE BOOK OF GOLDIKUS: VOL. 1 METALHEADZ / THE RUFIGE FILES' is split across more than 400 pages and tells the story of the drum & bass label founded by Goldie, DJ Storm and Kemistry in 1994 via words, photography, old event flyers, press clippings and never-seen-before sketches by Goldie.
Photographers Gus Coral, Normski and Rankin, as well as writer Tim Barr, are among the listed contributors to the book.
"From an underground sound to a global phenomenon, this is the story of how Metalheadz became one of the most influential movements in electronic music history," a post announcing the book on Instagram said. "Explore reflections from key artists, trailblazing releases by Dillinja, Photek, Doc Scott and Marcus Intalex, and the creation of Goldie's 'Timeless'."
The label's iconic Sunday parties at now-shuttered London venue Blue Note, as well as the graffiti culture that fuelled its early days are listed in the synopsis as aspects of the history that are covered in the book.
