Miami’s Club Space will close temporarily this summer for renovations.
From 2nd June, the 2,000-capacity nightclub — voted No. 30 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs poll 2024 — will temporarily shut down to comply with various building adjustments called for by the construction work of the E11EVEN Hotel and Residences next door.
The surrounding real estate project, consisting of two 65-story towers, demands that the club make structural alterations in line with the City of Miami's building and fire-safety standards.
In an interview with RA, Club Space co-owners Coloma Kaboomsky, David Sinopoli and Davide Danese explain that part of the restructuring process involves building a new stairwell to facilitate the creation of an an additional emergency exit. This will lead directly from the ground floor entrance to the dancefloor above.
"In order to solidify our club's future, we are making proactive improvements in our building to remain a part of the 11th Street neighbourhood development. All other construction inside of the club will focus on maintaining the vibe and levelling up our dance floor experience," the team explained on Instagram.
The club expects the renovations to be finished by autumn 2024, with Club Space sister venue Factory Town hosting various events until then.
Club Space has announced two weekends of "closing party marathons", which will take place during the last two weekends of May (Thursday 23rd - Sunday 26th and Thursday 30th - Sunday 2nd June).
The closing parties have booked a slew of local DJs such as Ms. Mada, Sister System and True Vine alongside the likes of Floorplan, Honey Dijon, Solomun, and others. Check the Club Space site for info.
