Michael Bibi raises €56,021 for Ibiza cancer charity with surprise DJ set

Michael Bibi raised €56,021 for an Ibiza cancer charity last week with a surprise DJ set on the island.

The London DJ's set at Beachouse Ibiza raised the money via donations at the door, with funds going to Ibiza cancer charity APAAC (Asociación Pitiusa de Ayuda a Afectados de Cáncer), a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families across Ibiza and Formentera.

“I’ve always had a thing for last-minute shows in Ibiza,” Bibi said in a press statement. “There’s something special about the chaos and spontaneity of it all. But this time, instead of an after-party, I wanted to channel that energy into something with meaning."

He continued: "Playing at Beachouse for the first time, with the sea just a few feet away and the energy of the crowd, reminded me why I fell in love with this scene in the first place - the community and connection. Last night was one of those moments where you could really feel that unity. We’ve all faced our own challenges, and if we can turn that into something that supports others, then that’s what it’s all about”.

In June 2023, Bibi was diagnosed with CNS lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that attacks the brain and spine. In December that year, after making a surprise appearance at Solid Grooves Ibiza closing party at DC-10 in September, he announced that he was officially cancer free.

Earlier this year, Bibi returned with his first new single in two years, ‘Sungazing (Electronic Mix)’, which marked his first single since 2023’s ‘Different Side’.

A portion of proceeds from ‘Sungazing (Electronic Mix)’ went directly to Bibi’s newly launched Michael Bibi One Life Foundation, a charity supporting cancer patients by providing uplifting environments and therapeutic activities. His One Life event, which returns to London's Silverworks Island in July, will also raise funds for The Royal Marsden cancer charity.
