One of Dance Music’s Biggest Legends To Soundtrack “Ibiza” Feature Film

Ibiza‘s history is about to unfold right before our very eyes with Ibiza: The Silent Movie — and the soundtrack is locked in. Filmmakers have enlisted in Fatboy Slim to score the island’s untold story, which releases June 26.

Since the dawn time, people from all walks life have joined together to celebrate good vibrations. With Ibiza being one the world’s most precious music resources, it’s about time the history is told in this sense. Legendary director Julien Temple has taken on the project, with the gods and goddesses Ibiza as his muses.

Fatboy Slim explains the project in a press release:

Julien showed me what was beneath the surface, beneath that rich ochre earth. There are stories you wouldn’t believe: Phoenicians, Romans, Beatniks, even Nazis all dancing to the unique rhythm a magic island… and how do you tell the story one the most colourful and unique islands on this planet? The answer is chew up the rule book, spit it out and set the resulting chaos to the most eclectic and evocative music the Island’s history has to fer.

The documentary film describes a story “peace, sensuality, spirituality, ancient ways life and new ways living. All “interwoven with tales brutal occupation, a spirit tolerance and acceptance others and the lives many colourful characters, irresistibly drawn to Ibiza and the fight for the very soul the Island.” This will all be set to riveting cuts from Fatboy Slim including “Right Here, Right Now,” “Praise You,” and “Weapon Choice.”

Ibiza: The Silent Movie hits theaters across the UK later this month. For now, check out the trailer to see a glimpse what’s in store.
